My Last Post….

at this blog address, that is. I am merging this blog with my new one:

Rusty and Redone

As my life evolves and interests change, I feel having one blog that shows my life as a whole, better suits me at this moment. I am still homeschooling. I am still a stay-at-home mom. My views and beliefs have not wavered.

But I am heading in some new directions, and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me and my family.

So, I hope you will check out the new blog, and continue to follow me as I post about our homeschooling, family life, field trips and a whole bunch of new stuff!

Blessings~

And thank you~

Hysterically Funny!

I just have to share this link to Carol Barnier’s post on her Sizzlebop blog. These are some entries in her “I’d Never Thought I’d Say That” contest. If you want a good laugh, hop on over and read this post!

If you are not familiar with Carol, just let me say, you should be! She is the hilarious author of How To Get Your Child Off The Refrigerator and On To Learning and If I’m Diapering a Watermelon, Then Where’d I Leave the Baby?

I noticed she has some new books out that I haven’t read yet, but will definitely be ordering. Her refrigerator book was the first one I read about homeschooling a “spirited” child when it was time to start schooling Connor. So, if you have a “sizzler,” as she likes to call these energetic kiddos, I would recommend perusing her website.

Enjoy!

Just for Fun

I copied this from Kim at Life.Sustainable just because  it looked like fun.

What color are your socks right now? I'm barefoot.                                     What are you listening to right now? Laina vacuuming and the boys playing the Wii.                                                                                                                            What was the last thing you ate? An M&M Blast from Sonic.                        Can you drive a stick? No. I tried to learn, but I’m too uncoordinated.
Last person you spoke to on the phone? Health Insurance Representative-trying to get kid’s insurance squared away before we move.                                     How old are you today? 37 years and 7 months.
What is your favorite sport to watch on TV? Not a big sports fan.       What is your favorite drink? I love Diet Vanilla Pepsi, but I’m trying to give it up, so it’ll have to be ice cold, ice tea. Unsweetened. I’m not sure how long I’ll last in the South, not being a sweet tea drinker!
Have you ever dyed your hair? Only to cover the gray.
Favorite food? Chocolate’s a food, right?                                                                     What is the last movie you watched? Eclipse                                                          Favorite day of the year? Any one that turns out good.                                       How do you vent anger? I hate to admit, but I am a yeller. Would really like to get over that, since it doesn’t work anyways!                                                                    What was your favorite toy as a child? Hmm, Barbie’s. Would play for hours with them. Wasn’t a baby doll person. Also liked the Fisher Price little people and my dollhouse.                                                                                                         Favorite Season? Fall. Leaves falling, sweater weather, cozy fire…..      Cherries or Blueberries? Cherries.
Living situation? In the process of moving.
When was the last time you cried? Last night. Out of frustration.           What is on the floor of your closet right now? A jumbled mess of shoes.     What are you most afraid of? Spiders!  And the dark. I still have to have a nite-lite. Pitiful, huh?                                                                                                                Plain, cheese, or spicy hamburgers?  Cheeseburgers.
Favorite dog breed? I’m more of a cat person, but probably something little, like a Chihuahua mix.                                                                                                                    Favorite day of the week? Saturday.
How many states have you lived in? One-fixing on making it two!
Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds.
What is your favorite flower? Carnations.
Did you get an H1N1 vaccine? No.

If you copy and post this, let me know. I’d love to read yours!

The Ultimate Blog 2010 After-Party

The Ultimate Blog Party 2010 is over. It was definitely fun while it lasted.

Lucky for us, 5 Minutes for Mom also hosts an after-party!

This was my first year participating and although I didn't manage to visit as many new blogs as I would have liked to, I did "make" several new blogging friends.

Here are a few of many that caught my eye and I'll be sure to keep following:

The great thing is, the links stay up on the UBP 2010 post. So, anytime I want to make some more new friends, I just have to hop on over there!

Thanks to all those who came to my party and left comments. I received many new followers and subscribers and am so excited to be able to contribute to the blogging world!

The Pioneer Woman

I wanted to share this blog with you that I fell upon quite by accident.

The link was shared on another blog that I follow, because the Pioneer Woman was featured on the Fox and Friends show for her cooking. She apparently makes wonderful cinnamon rolls.

So I spent quite a bit of time exploring her blog and let me tell you, she is hilarious!

She is a homeschooling mom who lives on a ranch in Oklahoma. She shares homeschooling, photography, cooking, ranch life, her love story with her husband, all in her posts. All with a refreshing sense of humor.

I was literally laughing at loud at my computer. The kids were wondering what I was up to over here that they weren't privy to.

Go by and check her out. You won't be disappointed.
