Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY... June 29, 2010

Outside my window...night sky.

I am thinking...that ice cream is definitely not on my diet.

I am thankful....that we are so far out of that diaper, bottle, totally reliant, kid stage.

I am wearing...striped pj pants, t-shirt & no shoes!

I am remembering....how nice summers are.

I am going....to go see Eclipse next week with my husband!

Some plans for the rest of the week...Lulu has an orthodontist appointment tomorrow,  my van windshield gets repaired tomorrow, and some personal errands. A BBQ with friends on Saturday.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.

I am hoping....to get remotivated to exercise.  This is a vicious circle I’m on.

On my mind...not much tonight.  I’m pretty relaxed!

From the learning room....not getting as much done as I’d hope for the summer. We’re still reading some  history. The kids are working on math, reading and handwriting as we have time.

Noticing that...I got a little sunburned today at the pool.

I am creating...a moving to-do-list and notebook.

I am hearing...Deadliest Catch on TV.

From the kitchen...we had crockpot swiss steak, green beans and mashed potatoes.

Around the house...boxes, boxes everywhere!

One of my favorite things...pedicures.

From my picture journal…..another one of my cat, Dallas. I know he looks like road kill, but he is only sleeping on the rocks.

Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... June 7, 2010

Outside my window...dusk.

I am thinking...I'd like another ice cream sandwich.

I am thankful....that my husband and I still get along after almost 18 years of marriage.

I am wearing...jeans, orangy colored shirt & bare feet.

I am remembering....how much fun babies are.

I am going....to start boxing up stuff this week for our move.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Lulu is at church day camp this weeek, company coming for a visit on Wednesday, working on my to do list, used curriculum sale on Friday.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, New Moon.

I am hoping....Uh-oh-I just noticed that last week I wrote I was hoping Conman is getting sick. It was supposed to read I am hoping he is not getting sick! This week I'm hoping that I'm not feeling as tired as I did today.

On my mind...wondering what to plan for my menu while guests are here.

From the learning room....math, handwriting & reading daily. Trying to finish the Transcontinental Railroad so we can start on Texas history.

Noticing that...it's harder to get the kids to bed on time with it staying light so late. They want to keep playing.

I am creating...not much right now.

I am hearing...the kids and my niece playing cards in the kitchen and being goofy.

From the kitchen...we had chicken & artichoke casserole, mixed colored rice & cooked carrots.

Around the house...we had potential buyers come look at the house today. Here's hoping....

One of my favorite things...Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.

Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... May 31, 2010

Outside my window...Sun, glorious sun!

I am thinking...that red velvet cake for breakfast is very yummy!

I am thankful....for my wonderful, relaxing weekend with family.

I am wearing...black pajama pants and a t-shirt.

I am remembering....funny things that Conman has said.

I am going....to probably have about 20 more pounds to lose after this weekend! Ha! Ha!

Some plans for the rest of the week...going home tonight; Lulu's final quilting class this week; a niece's 8th grade graduation; a field trip and a yard sale. I'm tired just typing it all out.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, New Moon.

I am hoping....Conman is getting sick. He's a little warm and a little grumpy.

On my mind...not a lot. It's been a good, stress-free weekend.

From the learning room....a couple field trips this weekend while we're in San Diego. Continuing to read about the railroad. Lulu will be completing her math this week. Winding down.

Noticing that...I really like waking up naturally to the sun coming in my window.

Pondering these words...???

I am creating...next year's school plan still.

I am hearing...family talking in the kitchen.

From the kitchen...Memorial day bbq. Ribs, chicken, red beans & rice, peach pie, homemade ice cream and more....

Around the house...when I get home, unpacking and laundry. Weekly menu and grocery shopping.

One of my favorite things...my new laptop!

From my picture journal...a photo of us at the San Diego Mission yesterday. Lulu is missing from it because she went to a youth group meeting with the cousins.

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... May 17, 2010

Outside my window...Dusk, some rain. Slight wind.

I am thinking...that I shouldn't have eaten so much at dinner. But is was very yummy.

I am thankful....that I know it could always be worse.

I am wearing...jeans, t-shirt, slippers and socks.

I am remembering....funny moments that happened when I was younger and sharing them with my family.

I am going....to get up in the morning and take a walk again. It felt really good this morning.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Lulu's quilting class tomorrow night. Babysitting my niece on Wednesday. Helping out my mom on Thursday. A concert at church on Saturday. Planning & cleaning in between.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker.

I am hoping...that my new Simply Charlotte Mason DVD seminar comes in the mail soon.

On my mind...a very nice postal counter worker was in tears today because her brother is very ill and she wasn't able to get off to go see him. It broke my heart.

From the learning room....we'll start reading about the Transcontinental Railroad tomorrow. Conman is going to skip ahead on this week's math lesson. It's about telling time, and he's ok with that already. Lulu only has 3 weeks of pre-algebra left. This school year is flying by.

Noticing that...I prefer it when things are quieter around the house.

Pondering these words...I don't have anything good to ponder this week....

I am creating...still nothing. All my focus is on the house and the school planning.

I am hearing...the printer spitting out notebook pages from Knowledge Box Central for Lulu's science next year. NCIS on tv.

From the kitchen...taco soup, with chips & cheese.

Around the house...catching up on laundry and ironing today. Noticed the bathroom sink is leaking.

One of my favorite things...coffee with friends.

From my picture journal...this is kind of a bizarre photo. Last year I had the distinct honor of being invited to the elite Club 33 in Disneyland. This did not happen on my own accord. I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend who needed someone to go with him and some clients for the day, and since his wife was unable to, it was suggested I go due to my extreme Disneyland addiction. So I went. And this was the toilet in the women's restroom. Enough said.

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... May 11, 2010

Outside my window...Windy. Not feeling at all like spring. Sigh....

I am thinking...that I need to start getting out of bed earlier.

I am thankful....for my budget.

I am wearing...jeans, long sleeve top, slippers and warm socks.

I am remembering....hmm...???

I am going....to keep planning for next year. To get a laptop before we move. To stop buying books. (for now)

Some plans for the rest of the week...not much for Wednesday or Thursday. If it warms up we may take that field trip yet. Maybe to Sacramento, Sutter's Fort. Saturday night, girl's night out at a Natalie Grant concert. Yippee!!

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Twilight-and I'm hooked. I can't wait to read the other books and watch the movies. I feel like a teenager!

I am hoping...I can get motivated to start exercising again. This is something I am so wishy-washy on.

On my mind...a relative's son was shot last night in town. Praying for a full recovery from surgery and the shooting.

From the learning room....will be finished with Pony Express this week. Conman is working on borrowing while subtracting and has already got the hang of it. Blakester's pollywogs started turning into itty-bitty frogs. Blakester and Lulu each received awards today at a ceremony for our county writing festival. Blakester 3 1sts and 1 2nd. Lulu a 1st and a 3rd.

Noticing that...I need to get back on my daily Bible reading plan.

Pondering these words...say what you mean and mean what you say.

I am creating...still nothing. I'm rather dull right now:)

I am hearing...the dishwasher running. Deadliest Catch on TV.

From the kitchen...ordered pizza tonight.

Around the house...cleaning out Lulu's closet. Cleaned out the office/school supply cupboard. Really need to clean the boys room.

One of my favorite things...vacations with my family.

From my picture journal...here is Blakester's little frog:

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... May 4, 2010

Outside my window...Breezy again today. Sun is shining.

I am thinking...that my kids are growing up so fast.

I am thankful....that I was able to sleep in this morning.

I am wearing...jeans, t-shirt and flip-flops.

I am remembering...some things from my childhood.

I am going...to keep clearing things out for our move in August. We want to pack and travel light. Keep planning next years school schedule. To start reading the Twilight series. I want to see what the all the fuss is about.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Lulu has quilting class tonight. Maybe another close field trip on Friday. Clean out, clean out!

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Setting Limits With Your Stong-Willed Child, Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult

I am hoping...that I can keep the house in order once it's up for sale!

On my mind...can't wait to move. It will be here before I know it!!! I think I'll have to post some background on this much anticipated move I keep talking about.

From the learning room....some subjects being wrapped up soon. Echo is our poem of the week. We did our reading outside yesterday since it was so nice. Clearing out some more school items we've outgrown or haven't used.

Noticing that...I seem to be off my game lately.

Pondering these words...Even a child is known by his actions; by whether his conduct is pure or right. Prov. 20:11

I am creating...nothing exciting right now.

I am hearing...cartoons on tv.

From the kitchen...leftovers tonight. We have some steak, pork loin and potatoes to finish up.

Around the house...things always seem so dusty. Why is that?

One of my favorite things...those cute little blog buttons. I just love those!

From my picture journal...a random picture. This is Blakester a couple of years ago hanging off a giant sloth at the La Brea tar pits. That was a really neat place to visit!

Have a wonderful day~

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... April 20, 2010

Outside my window...dusk. Breeze is picking up. Hummingbirds are at the feeder.

I am thinking...that I'm glad I'm feeling somewhat better.

I am thankful....for the flexibility that homeschooling has to offer.

I am wearing...black workout pants, tennies and a green t-shirt that says "One Tough Cookie"

I am remembering...when I was more full of joy.

I am going...to stay home for most of this week again. Try and get my energy back. This sinus infection has knocked me for a loop!

Some plans for the rest of the week...not much. Since we didn't make our field trips last week, I'd like to plan something for this Friday if all goes well. I'm thinking of a rock and mineral museum about 40 minutes from our house that will tie in nicely with our California gold rush study.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Setting Limits With Your Stong-Willed Child.

I am hoping... that my cough will go completely away-soon!

On my mind...some lists I need to put down on paper. School planning for next year, packing items, new items to buy, giveaway items....

From the learning room...."How Doth the Little Crocodile" for our weekly poem. Fairly smooth day today. Doing away with workboxes. They took way too much time for me to fill and plan. Goes along with my simplifying.

Noticing that...I lost a blog follower. I wonder what happened to her?

Pondering these words...Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalms 68:19.

I am creating...a clean house. A simple homeschool. A more peaceful environment for us.

I am hearing...the boys laughing and splashing in the bathtub.

From the kitchen...homemade lasagna, french bread and salad.

Around the house...cleaning. Laundry. Need to keep evaluating stuff for our move. (Which we have set a date for.)

One of my favorite things...my James Avery ring.

From my picture journal... I snapped this photo yesterday as I was getting ready to throw some laundry in the basket....

Have a wonderful day!

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... April 13, 2010

Outside my window...overcast, dreary, little breeze.

I am thinking...that the only good thing about being sick is staying in my pj's and taking naps.

I am thankful....that I don't have to rise at the crack of dawn to get my kids ready for school!

I am wearing...pj pants, t-shirt, slipper socks & slippers. What a slug I am:)

I am remembering...not much. My minds pretty much full of mush right now.

I am going...to take it easy this week. Pay our taxes, which came back better than we'd expected.

Some plans for the rest of the week...not much. Rest, reading. Maybe a field trip on Friday to Civil War days, if the weather cooperates and everyone feels better.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont, Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. I really need to get through a couple of these.

I am hoping... that those fruits of the spirit will start growing.

On my mind...again, not much!

From the learning room....back to school, but taking it slow. Our new artist for the next six weeks is Mary Cassatt. Our poet is Lewis Carroll. I'm also adding in hymn study & composer study-Bach.

Noticing that...the roses were blooming prettily, and then the rain & wind kind of smashed them.
Pondering these words...a word fitly spoken....Prov. 25:11a

I am creating...nothing new this week. My goal is to complete a couple of those books 0n my list!

I am hearing...the crackle of the fire, Lulu coughing-poor girl, and cartoons on t.v.

From the kitchen...ah-for me, turkey burger, broccoli & cauliflower, mixed rice & spinach salad-from a Biggest Loser meal plan article in a magazine. For everyone else, probably chicken and potatoes w/the veggies & salad.

Around the house...the bathrooms need to be cleaned and some light bulbs need to be changed.

One of my favorite things...the back of a baby's neck.

From my picture journal... these are 8 of the ten cousins that were here last week. Aren't they adorable?

Have a wonderful day!

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... April 7, 2010

Outside my window...weather looks promising. Should be a beautiful day, no wind and lots of sunshine!

I am thinking...that August can't come soon enough!

I am thankful....that my children have lots of cousins they know and get to play with.

I am wearing...workout pants, t-shirt, tennies

I am remembering...past vacations.

I am going...to start watching my Simply Charlotte Mason all-day seminar DVD for some motivation-haven't done that yet, even though I posted I was going to start it a couple weeks ago. Also, I am planning for the next 6 week term.

Some plans for the rest of the week...we have company visiting, so lots of playtime for the kiddos. Tomorrow a trip back to the olive oil plant.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont.

I am hoping... that my children will start getting along better.

On my mind...moving, moving, moving!

From the learning room....on vacation this week. Finishing up our John James Audubon bio and our California Gold Rush story this week.

Noticing that...life feels out of control lately.

Pondering these words...submission.

I am creating...nothing this week.

I am hearing...Handy Manny of tv for the littlest visitor, a couple of kids playing Guess Who and Conman running through the house calling me. I should mention we have 8 kids in the house currently with one more coming in a little while. All cousins!

From the kitchen...either leftovers or chicken and rice chowder and homemade biscuits. We'll see what I feel like later.

Around the house...some disorder. Toys out, bedding out. Kids having fun!

One of my favorite things...The Biggest Loser show. Did I list that already?

From my picture journal...another random photo I opened. This is, I believe, the Japanese Friendship Bell. Somewhere in Long Beach. It was taken in '07 and I've slept since then, so I'm not exactly sure.
Have a wonderful day!

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... March 22, 2010

Outside my window...it's sunny, but the wind is blowing. It doesn't feel like it will reach 70's today as promised.

I am thinking...that I missed posting my weekly wrap-up last week. Busy weekend.

I am thankful....that my kitty Dallas was found. Interesting story.

I am wearing...workout pants, t-shirt, tennies and a sweatshirt.

I am remembering...what it was like when my children couldn't yet talk.

I am going...to start watching my Simply Charlotte Mason all-day seminar DVD for some motivation.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Lulu has an orthodontist appointment on Wednesday. Thursday I'm going back to the used curriculum store to pick up any leftover items I had and get Blakester's next science book. Also, getting a haircut finally! Conducting our yard sale this weekend since we're supposed to have better weather.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont. And, yes, I did start another Jodi Picoult book-Change of Heart. I have no self-discipline!

I am hoping... to be able to take some trips for our California history studies.

On my mind...family.

From the learning room....started reading about the California gold rush. Working on the habit of attention, obedience and orderliness without nagging.

Noticing that...per our message at church this weekend, most of what we think are crises in our life are self-inflicted.

Pondering these words...prayer.

I am creating...more scrapbooking pages.

I am hearing...Blakester & Lulu goofing off at the table when they should be finishing lunch. Conman's gameboy music.

From the kitchen...Chicken with lemon & garlic, veggies-asparagus & tomatoes, and brown rice.

Around the house...things are somewhat in order. Still pulling items out from here and there for the yard sale. Still thinning things out for our upcoming (hopeful) move.

One of my favorite things...jeans.

From my picture journal... the results of our fabulous girls day out. Seven pairs of perfectly manicured toes.

Monday, March 15, 2010

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... March 15, 2010

Outside my window...it's dark. It's only 8:30 but I'm ready for bed! This time change is throwing me off.

I am thinking...that I need a haircut and color. I see some gray peeking out.

I am thankful for....my house in Texas. Something to look forward to.

I am wearing...blue plaid flannel pj pants & a t-shirt.

I am remembering...MOPS times.

I am going...to try to get serious about my eating healthy & exercising regularly. I think that's what I was going to do last week, too.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Conman's gymnastics tomorrow and stop by his eye Dr. to pick up his repaired glasses. Another library stop. Getting a pedicure with my daughter, sisters, niece, aunt & mom on Saturday, having lunch & doing whatever Miss Delaney Grace wants to! Then church Saturday night.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont. I'm going to make myself finish at least the two easiest of these before I pick up another Jodi Picoult book.

I am hoping... that my fluffy kitty Dallas turns up. He's been missing since Friday morning.

On my mind...sleep.

From the learning room....started timing shorter lessons today with Conman. It appeared to be his idea, so it went well. Set the timer for 15 minutes, he worked on a box, if there was time left when he completed it, he got to play. Going to start implementing it with the other two also, following Charlotte Mason's short lesson recommendations. More attention is paid to the lesson at hand and less dawdling if they know it's either earn a few minutes break or have to continue the lesson later while everyone else plays. Brilliant!

Noticing that...the pictures I scrapbooked this weekend showed a much thinner me.

Pondering these words...Proverbs 31 Woman.

I am creating...scrapbooking pages. Yay!!

I am hearing...Absolutely nothing. Kiddos are tucked in for the night.

From the kitchen...Balsamic chicken, big green salad with tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers, feta cheese & toasted pine nuts, and cute little slices of Tuscan bread dipped in olive oil. Yum. Tomorrow is taco soup and cornbread casserole.

Around the house... Husband sprayed the weeds so they are dying. Plants and trees are blooming. Silvy, the inside cat, has become obsessed with the crickets hopping around in the lizard's aquarium. She sits and stares at it for long periods of time.

One of my favorite things...the t.v. show Hoarders.

From my picture journal... our Cherry-Plum tree in bloom.

Til tomorrow~

Monday, March 8, 2010

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... March 8, 2010

Outside my window...overcast. Cold. Lots of weeds and a couple red wagons sitting on the back patio.

I am thinking...about babies.

I am thankful for... my God.

I am wearing... tennies, blue workout pants and a hot-pink t-shirt. Notice a pattern?

I am remembering...our dating years.

I am going... to really try to eat better this week.

Some plans for the rest of the week...Conman's gymnastics tomorrow and stop by his eye Dr. because his glasses broke, again. Quick library stop for one science book. Baby shower on Saturday, special church presentation on Sunday.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series, Tenth Circle by Jodi Piccoult, Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont, More Charlotte Mason Education by Catherine Levison.

I am hoping... for that sun again. Yucky weather makes me feel yucky.

On my mind...my brother.

From the learning room....starting Conman's new science today. I decided against combining him and Blakester with Apologia for right now. Blakester really enjoys doing it on his own and I'm not sure it will appeal to Conman at this age. This year, 4Th grade, was a really good time to start with Blakester, so I'm going to hold off another year or so for Conman. We're going to start 106 Days of Creation from Simply Charlotte Mason. It will give him a good overview for upcoming studies.

Noticing that...I've not taken very good care of myself lately.

Pondering these words... I try to teach the children to think.

I am creating...a simple home.

I am hearing...Conman chomping on gum while watching cartoons.

From the kitchen... Lulu is cooking eggs and sausage for her and her brother. Country-fried steak with mashed potatoes and cooked carrots for dinner. Maybe a dessert, I'm not sure yet..

Around the house... Bob the lizard has been moved into a new home. Blakester spent time yesterday cleaning out an aquarium we inherited and settled Bob into it. I had to go buy itty, bitty crickets from the pet store for him.

One of my favorite things...Disneyland.

From my picture journal... another random picture from my computer stash.

This is my lovely niece Delaney Grace. She's about 4 1/2 in this picture. Her 7Th birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Delaney!!! Love ya!!

Have a wonderful day~

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... March 1, 2010.... Really? March, already?

Outside my window...a little bit of sun, a little bit of a breeze. Nice day.

I am thinking...that I have to go work out this afternoon and I don't want to.

I am thankful for... friends who get it.

I am wearing... tennies, workout pants and a light blue t-shirt.

I am remembering...when my kiddos were much littler.

I am going... to probably flake out on my exercising.

I am currently reading... Laying Down the Rails by Sonya Shafer, The Bible, The Original Homeschooling Series. I finished "My Sister's Keeper" last night. No, I didn't cry in the end, but only because my husband was in the same room with me and I didn't want him to think I was a wimp.

I am hoping... that plans keep moving forward.

On my mind...tomato staking. See Raising Godly Tomatoes website.

From the learning room....things are going smoothly. Blakester & Lulu have just a few more weeks on some current subjects and then we'll move into doing history CM style with all of us together. Blakester & Conman will start working together on science when Blakester is done with his current book. We'll finish reading our bible story set in a couple of weeks, so we'll start reading from the bible where it ties in with our history.

Noticing that...things have been quieter the last few days.

Pondering these words... peace.

I am creating...nothing right now. As I'm winding down my clean out for the yard sale, I'm hoping to have some time to start on my Texas scrapbook.

I am hearing...the kids arguing-so much for quieter. And the hum of a lawnmower from our neighbor's house.

From the kitchen... homemade chocolate chip cookies, rosemary chicken, brown rice & broccoli..

Around the house... been pulling weeds while the weather's nice.

One of my favorite things...Starbucks White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha and an apple fritter-warmed.

From my picture journal... another random picture from my computer stash. This is kind of fun.

This was taken in June of 2007. Lulu & I were baptized at the same time. That's our pastor, Jeff, in the middle.

Have a wonderful day~

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... February 15, 2010

Outside my window...fog-although not extremely bad. It will clear up.

I am thinking...I need to visit a chiropractor.

I am thankful for... a God who loves me.

I am wearing... a black t-shirt w/stars on it, jeans and my new tennies!

I am remembering...past trips to Disneyland .

I am going... to coffee with friends this morning and then exercise. Tonight a 4H meeting with Lulu.

Some plans for the rest of the week...flea market tomorrow, taking Lulu to a youth day at church on Wednesday, babysitting my niece Thursday & Friday. And clean, clean, clean. This is why we're having a relaxed school schedule this week.

I am hoping... that I've lost some weight when I weigh in today.

On my mind...the health of my mom's husband.

Noticing that... Conman is a bit more active this morning than usual. And that's saying alot!

Pondering these words... sacrifice.

I am creating...a new homeschool/household planner notebook.

I am hearing...Conman pouring cereal into a bowl and chatting to himself.

From the kitchen... leftovers from the fridge-lasagna and chicken noodle soup.

Around the house... things are looking better.

One of my favorite things...my cats.

From my picture journal...a picture of a fort that Conman created a couple weeks ago. It included a play area & a school area. The sign read something like "Kids only, no adults. Cats allowed".

Enjoy your day~

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY... February 8, 2010

Outside my window...a dreary February morning. Chances of rain.

I am thinking...I need a vacation somewhere sunny and warm.

I am thankful for... healthy, active children.

I am wearing... long sleeve green t-shirt w/cowboy boots & hats printed on it, jeans, slipper socks w/moose on them that my hubby brought me from Wyoming and slippers.

I am remembering... that I need to follow God's plan for me.

I am going... to a homeschool curriculum store this week to try and sell some extra curriculum.

I am currently reading... Anne of Green Gables, The Bible, A Charlotte Mason Companion, The Original Homeschooling Series-whew!

I am hoping... to finish Anne of Green Gables today and start another fiction book.

On my mind... taxes, still...

From the learning room....making a slow transition to Charlotte Mason's methods.

Noticing that... I forgot to send a birthday wish to a dear friend of mine:(

Pondering these words... habits.

I am creating...nothing at the moment.

I am hearing...the boys playing Legos before school.

From the kitchen... crockpot chicken jambalaya and green salad.

Around the house... cleaning out for a garage sale and trying to simplify.

One of my favorite things... naps

From my picture journal...a picture of Silvy I took around Thanksgiving-she discovered a visiting baby's pacifier.

Have a wonderful day!

For Today....February 1, 2010

Outside my window... a hint of sun, some sparrows and finches flitting around and my fluffy cat lying on a lawn chair.

I am thinking... about what direction to take with our schooling.

I am thankful for... a place to live.

I am wearing... workout pants, t-shirt and tennies. Monday-exercise day!

I am remembering... what it was like when life was simpler.

I am going... to be extra frugal this month.

I am currently reading... Anne of Green Gables, The Hurried Child, The Bible

I am hoping... for a peaceful day.

On my mind... taxes.

Noticing that... I don't have a lot of energy these days. Cutting out caffeine will do that to you!

Pondering these words... "Not that I ever was in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have."

From the kitchen... Chicken and artichoke casserole, rice and cooked carrots

Around the house... still piles of stuff to be completed.

One of my favorite things.... chocolate pie

From my picture journal...this is actually a picture my husband took while in Wyoming last week. The contrast of the white tree against the blue and red background is amazing!

Enjoy your day!
